Overview

ICAS, Investment Club Accounting System, copyright 1997, is a Microsoft Windows based application designed to handle the unique accounting requirements of Investment Clubs. The application is written in Microsoft Visual Basic and uses Microsoft Access databases.

ICAS is a standalone program that does not interface with the internet. Therefore, it cannot be used to download current investment data such as stock prices or dividend distributions. All investment and club member data required by ICAS is entered through the keyboard. ICAS does not prepare tax returns or create tax specific information. However, some ICAS reports could be useful in preparing tax returns.

ICAS Benefits

ICAS was developed to meet the unique accounting requirements of Investment Clubs. It provides for managing a club with up to 40 members and an associated single pool of investments.

Members may have different equity positions in the club and may make contributions of differing amounts. Each member holds units in the club similar to a mutual fund. New members and contributions to existing memberships "buy" units at the current unit price. Units are re-valued at the close of each business month. If allowed by the club, withdrawals "sell" units at the current unit price.

An exclusive Vote Screen allows members to vote their units on club business decisions.
